Talking About the the Weather Author: Jessica Kashdan-Brown It’s just been snowing here in in in the UK but it feels like spring isn’t far away Spring is a a a a a season in in the the the the UK where the the the the weather changes all the the the the time: one moment it’s it’s raining the the the next it’s it’s hailing and then the the the sun comes out! This is is where the the phrase ‘April showers’ comes from meaning the the short showers showers of rain we get on on and off all all through Spring It is actually from the longer proverb ‘April showers bring forth May flowers’ British people are famously obsessed with talking about the the weather It may be be a a a a a stereotype but it’s true This is is probably because the the weather changes so so much in in Britain and is so so unpredictable that it it gives us plenty to talk about Because Britain is is is a a a a a collection of of islands with lots of of moisture in in the air even British weather forecasts are difficult to get right and they change all the the the time so always check the the the weather forecast in advance as as as well as as as just before you go out You might notice that in in Britain we don’t have many places to eat outside that that aren’t covered because we can’t guarantee that that it won’t rain even in in the middle of summer summer T-shirts in in in winter? Snow in in in summer? You never quite know in in in Britain so be prepared for anything
