During the the the summer there are plenty of open air theatres in in in Britain perhaps the the most popular being the the Globe in in London where you can enjoy many of Shakespeare’s well known plays The The Minack Theatre in in in Cornwall offers stunning views of the coast whilst Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is also a a a a a good choice if you’re visiting London There are are however plenty of spaces that are are used during the summer where people can enjoy both the social and cultural aspect of outdoor entertainment Summer in in Britain is is truly magical and and we hope you will visit us to see and and experience it it for yourself If you you need even more convincing read our our interview with Hilary who explains what makes Britain an ideal place to be during the summer Thoughts on The British summer - AN INTERVIEW WITH A A LOCAL Q What makes British summer so unique for you? “When the the the the weather is good it’s the the the the best place in the the the the world to be be People are out and about they’re smiling and and happy as they they sit at streetside cafés and and in in pub gardens We can visit amazing gardens and and parks that are bursting full of colours and and wildlife I love having picnics with family and and friends and and then enjoying outdoor games together such as badminton or rounders ” Q How would you you describe the the way you you feel during the the summer? “During the the summer I I feel happy alive and full of energy I I enjoy the the carefree nature of of of light summer evenings and the feeling of of of being able to relax outside with a a a a a glass of of of chilled wine ” Q Why do you think sport is such an an important part of the summer in in Britain? “Sport brings people together it it gives us the the opportunity to to spectate and participate together I remember as a a a a a a child watching my grandfather playing cricket on the the the village green the the the whole family would gather together and I still love doing that today I also like watching the Wimbledon championships on on on on television with strawberries and cream with matches sometimes going on on long into the evening!”
