5 Things With… Tatsuya

5 Things With… Tatsuya

This week we interviewed our Japanese student Tatsuya who has only been in Bath for one week!

We asked him his favourite things about Bath and any major cultural differences he has noticed between the UK and Japan.

How long are you staying in Bath?

Only one week! It is my first time in the UK, it has been very short but I would like to return to Bath one day.

What is the biggest cultural difference between Bath and Japan?

There are many differences in everyday life but I would say the way people eat. In the UK, you have starter, main and dessert but where I come from we have many more smaller dishes in one sitting.

What is one of your favourite things about Bath?

The view of the city! The buildings are so nice to look at, we don’t have that in Japan.

Are the people different?

The people in Bath are very welcoming and friendly, especially to international students like myself. If I am struggling, I have asked people questions on the street and they have listened to me and helped me.

Will you be coming back to the UK?

Yes, I would like to come back to Bath but also explore other cities in the UK.
