Phrase of the Week: ‘To have a bone to pick with someone’

The phrase ‘to have a bone to pick with someone’ can be used when you have a disagreement to discuss with someone.

For example: “Hey. I’ve got a bone to pick with you. I heard what you said at the meeting last night.”

The use of the word bone in the phrase comes from the way a dog chews a bone, where they will pick it clean.
